Rapper Proof killed at 8 Mile Club

Eminem’s best man at his wedding and lifetime friend, Proof, was shot overnight at a nightclub along Eight Mile Road in Detroit.
The death of Proof - whose real name is Deshaun Holton - was confirmed by Dennis Dennehy, the publicist for D12’s label, Interscope Records.
“Memorial service arrangements are still being made, and his friends and family would appreciate privacy during this difficult time,” Dennehy said in a statement. – Associated Press. Read more…
This is a sad event for everyone involved, and it will be interesting to see how D12 comes out of it (tribute song, etc.).
Things couldn’t be going worse for Eminem right now – first he divorces his wife, and now one of his best friends is killed in his hometown.
It’s unclear if the shooting had any motives behind it or if it was just a random event, but with Obie Trice being shot at in December, it’s possible there’s more to the story than is currently being told.
