What? Faith Hill Claims CMA Reaction was a Joke

Faith Hill insists she’s no Kanye West. The country music superstar says she was just joking when cameras showed her screaming “WHAT?” in apparent anger when she lost the female vocalist of the year award to newcomer Carrie Underwood at the Country Music Association Awards on Monday night in Nashville.

Although her voice could not be heard, it was clear from her lips what she said. She looked visibly upset and then it looked as if she was storming off. The incident has been replayed endlessly on sites like YouTube.com.

Underwood also didn’t take it seriously, according to her publicist, Jessie Schmidt, who said that Hill spoke to Underwood after the show and that the two were fine.

Underwood, the 2005 “American Idol” champ, has become a triple platinum success since releasing her debut album late last year. Hill is a longtime darling of country music with crossover pop appeal.

This is the second time in less than a week that an awards show loss has resulted in an (apparent) on-camera freakout by a loser. Last week, Kanye West stormed the stage at the MTV Europe Music Awards and interrupted the speech of the winners, claiming his video deserved the honor. - Associated Press

I guess being on stage during the award didn’t help, but Faith claims it was a harmless joke. Afterall, what would she have to be upset about anyway… it’s not like Carrie came out of nowhere (wink) or has become a start very quickly (wink, wink), all while Faith has been working on her career for decades, coming up slowly from nothing :P

The reaction appeared genuine, but we’ll never know because it’s easy to play it off as nothing now. I’ll bet her hubby, Tim McGraw, was just as upset when Kenny Chesney won the CMA’s biggest award (best entertainer).

Dr. Will Evicted from Big Brother House

Dr. Will evicted from Big Brother All-StarsIn the latest Big Brother All-Stars twist, Janelle and Erica teamed up to get Dr. Will evicted from the house on Tuesday’s episode. Janelle won the power of veto and saved herself, forcing Boogie to put Will on the block. Boogie was stunned w/ the revelation that the girls ended up turning the table on the boys (who thought they had it in the bag).

In the first of three head of household competitions, Boogie surprisingly gave up in the competition within the first 5 seconds. He believes that his actions will now force one of the girls to take him into the final two with her. Janelle accidently let her hand go from the key when Boogie gave up; this allowed Erica to win the first competition.

The surprise of the night came when the two girls conspired to evict Will in the elimination. Both realized that they boys were playing them for fools and took it upon themselves to turn the tables.

Looking forward to head of household competition #2.

N’ Sync’s Lance Bass is Gay - No Duh!

In what seems like today’s dumbest story, former ‘N Sync member Lance Bass revealed that he’s gay.  To anyone that’s ever seen one of their videos or listed to Lance talk, this isn’t new information.

“I knew that I was in this popular band and I had four other guys’ careers in my hand, and I knew that if I ever acted on it or even said (that I was gay), it would overpower everything,” he tells People magazine.  Bass says he wondered if his coming out could prompt “the end of ‘N Sync.” He explains, “So I had that weight on me of like, `Wow, if I ever let anyone know, it’s bad.’ So I just never did.” Read more…

The timing on Lance’s gay announcement couldn’t come at a more convenient time… He and former bandmate Joey Fatone are trying to get a sitcom pilot going where Lance plays, what else… a gay guy.

Lance says he’s in a happy relationship w/ CBS’ Amazing Race winner Reichen Lehmkuhl.

Now that he’s “out of the closet”, maybe we can all get on with our lives…lol

David Blaine Chokes on Underwater Record

David Blaine Chokes on Underwater RecordIn what might be the most over-hyped and dramatized world record attempt ever, David Blaine simply could not hold his breath long enough. After spending a week inside a water-filled bubble, Blaine attempted to hold his breath for approximately 9 minutes, which would be a new world record.

The challenge had taken a toll on the magician’s body, including liver damage, pins and needles in his feet and hands, some loss of sensation and rashes all over his body, said Dr. Murat Gunel, who heads Blaine’s medical team and is associate professor of neurosurgery at Yale University School of Medicine. - Read more…

Ok, so what part of setting a world record includes possibly killing yourself or causing life-long health problems. Hasn’t he already received his 15 minutes of fame?

Seriously… Stewart Scott from ESPN live during the event, which they dragged out to a full hour? Could it get any lamer…
