Ben Stiller poked fun at Joaquin Phoenix at Sunday’s Academy Awards.

Presenting Best Cinematography alongside Natalie Portman, Stiller walked on stage with a bushy beard and sunglasses and chomped on gum.

Britney Spears Wins 3 VMA Awards; MTV Goes Cheap

Britney Spears won big at Sunday’s 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, taking home three awards, including Video of the Year.She kicked off the show with Superbad’s Jonah Hill in a pre-taped skit, where he tried to teach her some relaxation techniques.

He ordered her to close her eyes. When she did, he leaned in and tried to kiss her.

411LowDown:Â In what was arguably the worst awards show of all time, Britney Spears went home w/ 3 awards.Â To begin with, her video was not all that impressive, so her winning was a surprise (each time).

To top off the bogus awards, the show’s host, Russell Brand, was easily the worst host of any show, of all-time.Â Sure, the guy is British and has a different type of humor, but he was horrible as host of the 2008 MTV VMAs.Â His jokes lacked timing and clarity; his actions & movements implied drunkeness or the influence of drugs.

In addition, it looked like an amateur show.Â The stage, the setting, the presentation… everything looked about 1 step above a high school play.Â Total crap IMHO.

Seriously, what was MTV thinking… try doing a serious show next year.

Ryan Seacrest, Heidi Klum & 3 Others to Co-Host Emmy Awards

This story fits in the “what the fu**?” category, since I don’t think there has ever been an awards show co-hosted by 5 different people.Â The Emmy Awards will reportedly have 5 different hosts – all of whom are nominated for “Best Reality Host“.Â Â Within that category is apparently “Game Show Host”, because Deal or No Deal is not a reality show; it’s a freakin’ game show.

The Emmy Awards will have five co-hosts this year: Ryan Seacrest, Heidi Klum, Jeff Probst, Howie Mandel, and Tom Bergeron â€“ all of whom are also nominees in the new category of best reality host. Seacrest is up for American Idol, Klum for Project Runway, Probst for Survivor, Mandel for Deal or No Deal and Bergeron for Dancing With the Stars.

This sounds like an ego trip & mess waiting to happen if you ask me.Â You think Ryan Seacrest is going to share the limelight w/ anyone and smile about it?Â The only cable TV host to get selected is Klum, which isn’t too surprising since “Love of Money” is a tanker on VH1.

The idea to have 5 hosts is certainly unique and should make the awards show a little more interesting, but how about going with no host and just letting the presenters do their thing?Â Isn’t that basically what the show consists of anyway? Giving out Emmy awards??
